Session 1 – AVID Family Session (5:30)
What are tutorials? During this session we will provide an insiders glance into the tutorials students participate in twice a week in the AVID Elective. We will explore the key components and benefits of the tutorial process along with answer questions about the newly refined process. This session is for those families currently enrolled in the AVID Elective.
Session 2 – Learning Virtually (6:00)
This session will focus on highlighting commonly used engagement tools in the virtual learning environment. Join us and dive deeper into the virtual learning environment. We will have some time at the end for Q&A. Look forward to seeing you all virtually!
Session 3 - What is AVID? (6:00)
In this session we will provide information about our AVID Elective. What is AVID? What do we learn in AVID? Why should you apply for the elective? These questions and more will be answered in this informative session. Anyone considering AVID for 2021 -2022 school year is welcome to attend.
Session 4 – Welcome to Infinity (6:30)
The Infinity Academy is an online blended learning program that is offered at RBSMS. Students are issued a computer and they work on campus at their own pace. There is a teacher in their classroom to support their learning. Join us to learn about the Infinity Academy. You may want to sign up for the 2020-2021 school year.
Session 5 – “Counselor’s Corner” (6:00, 6:30)
School counseling is a developmental process in which the school counselor provides student’s with guidance and encouragement, as well as challenge and inspiration in creatively managing and resolving practical, personal, and relationship issues in order to help students achieve goals. School counselors focus on three main domains: Academic, Career/College, and Social-Emotional. Parents and students, come meet a school counselor to answer any questions you may have.
Session 6 - College is Coming! (7:00)
It’s never too early to think about and prepare for college. During this session we will explore the basics of college planning. We will discuss the basic requirements colleges will be looking for, college options in high school (dual enrollment and AP courses) and ways to pay for college. Everyone is welcome to attend this session.
Session 7 - Math Textbooks and Online Supports (7:00)
This year we have new math textbook publishers. This session will focus on how the content is packaged differently than in the past, and how to access a variety of online resources to help support students be successful with their course content.
Session 8 - Art Show (5:30-7:00)
